Pet Memorials in Glass

As pet owners we all eventually have to face the sadness of losing a much-loved family member. Of course I've been through it myself, and have counselled many other pet owners who have found their loss hard to cope with.

There are memories and photographs, but there don't seem easy answers when it comes to marking the passing of a loved pet; pet cemeteries are the answer for some, but I prefer to remember my dogs and cats for the joy they gave, rather than the sadness of their passing.

Memorial glass is a way to remember your pet with pleasure; these beautiful pieces are made in close consultation with you by craftsmen in a handblown glass workshop in Devon.

A small amount of your pet's ashes are used in the making of the piece; this can create remarkable effects, making a lovely memorial. Colours and the shape of the piece, whether a vase or free-form sculpture are your choice.

Prices start at approximately £75, including VAT and postage and include a brief personalised description on the base. The usual procedure, after the death of your pet is to ask your vet to arrange a private cremation; once the ashes are returned to you then the workshop can begin to create your memorial piece.

From receipt of the ashes, the work should be completed with approximately 21 days.

A personalised inscription, of your choice of words can be made on the base of the item, and all pieces will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
