Swedish Lapphund |
 The Swedish Lapphund is a typically Spitz breed, kept as a reindeer guard and herder, with a dense weather resistant coat to protect him from the harsh conditions. He is an intelligent and biddable dog who is quick to learn and eager to please, though he does love companionship and does not like to be left alone.
The Swedish Lapphund has plenty of energy and will take any amount of exercise; he is not a dog to lie around in front of the fire, much as he enjoys being part of a family. Like all Spitz breeds he has a voice that he is not afraid to use. He is medium sized at up to 20" and solidly built. The dense coat is bear-brown, black, brown or a combination of black and brown with sold colours being preferred. Minimal white markings are acceptable.
